SumoMe – This app shows the social media share buttons on the left side of my blog (or at the bottom if you’re on a phone) and the email subscription box that appears. Definitely, the best social media app I’ve discovered.
Akismet – Protection from comment and trackback spam
Wordfence Security – Caching, security, security scans, firewall, reports malicious IP’s, network blocking, DNS monitoring, disk space monitoring for DDoS attacks, comment scanning
PicMonkey – I love this site for quickly resizing or adding text to my stock photos. Everything I use it for is free!
Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, and Pages – I mix and match these apps for things like downloadable content or blog post images. If you’re looking for something quick and easy, Canva is where it’s at!
Hemingway – This is a must-use, especially if you’re not 100% confident in your writing yet! It highlights sentences that are difficult to read as well as adverbs, passive voice, and phrases that can be simplified. I use it for every post I write.
Grammarly– This is a great app similar to Hemingway. There is a Chrome plugin available that will monitor your grammar and spelling as you write. You can also integrate it with Microsoft Office.
Kickstart Your List – If you’re looking to grow your newsletter this course is absolutely amazing. I learned *so* much from this course and can 100% say my weekly newsletters are better because of it.
Pinfinite Growth – Thanks to this course I got my first two clients, and Pinterest became my #1 traffic source.
Content Marketing For Creatives – No one wants to get that icky feeling when marketing products or services. This course is perfect for learning to market without annoying your audience or going against what you feel comfortable doing.
Daily Greatness Business Planner – I don’t know how I ever functioned without this baby. By far the best planner I’ve ever owned. Perfect if you run a small business, set weekly intentions, and use time-blocking. (That link gives you 5% off!)
Trello – I use Trello for organizing my blog post ideas. I have lists for my post ideas, posts I’m going to do in the current week, posts I’ve already done, and very general post ideas. It’s easy to move stuff around and keep it updated. Great to pull open quickly when you have a new idea!
Dropbox – I store all my photos and miscellaneous documents on Dropbox so I can access them anywhere.
Hootsuite – My go to social media scheduling tool. It connects to over 35 of the most popular social networks, NOW including Instagram and YouTube!
WordPress – Quick and convenient way to check stats, make sure a scheduled post got published and view new comments.
bitly – Shorten your links and tidy them up with bitly. Great for twitter posts, it also provides data for how many time your link has been clicked on.
Notes – It is important that you always have a way to write down a post idea the moment it pops into your mind. I have the Notes app in a convenient place on my phone just for that reason.

The Fizzle Show – Looking to be entertained while learning a ton of valuable information of running a successful business? This is a great podcast for just that!
Being Boss – Kathleen and Emily have been where we are and they are FULL of knowledge to share. They tell it like it is and have a lot of fun in the process.
Smart Passive Income – Pay Flynn is the man, I love his podcast. He brings on super knowledgeable guest with inspiring stories all the time. It’s definitely one of my go-to podcast when I’m looking for an encouraging success story.
